La Oficina en México del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas pidió al gobierno mexicano que atienda y reparen los daños adecuadamente a las víctimas, además de realizar una investigación exhaustiva.

La ONU pidió a las autoridades mexicanas realizar una investigación exhaustiva e imparcial sobre los hechos violentos ocurridos en Nochixtlán, Oaxaca el domingo 19 de junio.

Además solicitó que se atienda y reparen los daños adecuadamente a las víctimas y se dé pleno acceso a la asistencia médica a los heridos.

“Mi Oficina hace un llamado para que se evite la violencia y las partes involucradas privilegien el diálogosobre la confrontación con el fin de prevenir la repetición de situaciones como las ocurridas”, señaló Jan Jarab, Representante en México del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos.

Este domingo manifestantes y policías federales y estatales se enfrentaron en Nochixtlán, dejando como saldo 8 personas muertas, 55 policías heridos, 53 civiles lesionados y 21 detenidos, confirmó el gobierno del estado.

La ONU-DH reiteró la necesidad de que México cuente con una ley general sobre el uso de la fuerza, aplicable a todas las fuerzas de seguridad y que garantice una efectiva rendición de cuentas en su aplicación.

Añadió que en una protesta violenta, las autoridades deben usar como último recurso la fuerza y sujetarse a los principios de razonabilidad y proporcionalidad, evitando violaciones al derecho a la vida e integridad física.

Este lunes, Amnistía Internacional pidió una investigación transparente de los hechos y que haya un “debido juzgamiento de todas las autoridades y demás personas que se encuentren involucradas. Las declaraciones realizadas por las autoridades estatales y federales deslindándose de los hechos no deben utilizarse para socavar o distraer la investigación”.
